The 8 Best Netflix Series to Binge-Watch in 2022 (So Far)

The 8 Best Netflix Series to Binge-Watch in 2022 (So Far)

Although we’re barely halfway through 2018, it’s never too early to look ahead to 2022 and all the new Netflix series that will be added to the streaming service before then. Now, these are just predictions based on current shows and projects that Netflix has in production and development; there’s no guarantee that all of these shows will be successful or well-received, but they seem like pretty good bets at this point (especially considering all of the excellent shows that have come out so far this year). So here they are!

1) Westworld

The philosophical, mind-bending and wildly entertaining sci-fi drama is now available for your viewing pleasure. Adapted from Michael Crichton's 1973 film of the same name, Westworld premiered on HBO on Oct. 2 and has been renewed for a second season set to air in 2018. The show depicts a futuristic theme park called Westworld where guests interact with lifelike robots as they go on Western adventures. The show was created by Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest), Lisa Joy Nolan (Pushing Daisies) and J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens).

2) Stranger Things

Although it only came out a few weeks ago, Stranger Things has already been declared one of TV’s most exciting new series. It’s due for an entire second season, which will premiere in 2017, so you won’t be able to binge all of it yet. But that’s okay—there are plenty of great shows on Netflix now to keep you occupied until then. Here are eight of our favorites... if you haven’t seen them yet, start watching immediately!

3) Black Mirror

Charlie Brooker’s anthology series from 2017 is currently behind only Stranger Things and Narcos on IMDb's Top TV Shows chart. Created by Charlie Brooker, each episode depicts a near-future dystopia that uses technology in its most extreme—and potentially damaging—manner. This year, Black Mirror won its first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie for its special episode San Junipero. It was also nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form).

4) Bojack Horseman

If you’ve never seen Bojack Horseman , then I don’t know what you’re doing with your life. It’s not a show that tackles heavy, serious issues. It doesn’t make viewers feel better about their own lives. Instead, it delves deep into dark and depressing territory while also using silliness and humor to make an otherwise bleak journey feel fun, light and worthwhile.

5) Fuller House

Who’s ready for more Fuller House?! After nearly three decades off television, we got a reboot of our beloved Full House with Fuller House. Fans of classic TGIF shows were eager to check out what Stephanie, D.J., and Kimmy Gibbler have been up to these days and after hearing so much buzz about it on social media, I decided that I just had to see what all of the fuss was about. The good news is that after watching all 13 episodes, I can tell you it definitely lived up to my expectations! Thank you new cast members like Juan Pablo Di Pace as Fernando and John Brotherton as Matt for bringing fun new energy into our lives! Here's hoping for more episodes on Netflix next year!

6) Arrested Development

The original cult classic, Arrested Development is a family dramedy that's still as funny as ever more than a decade later. Its dry and dark humor might not be for everyone, but if you like The Office or Seinfeld, you're sure to get a kick out of it. Be warned: It takes several episodes to really hit its stride; stick with it! Available on Netflix.

7) Narcos

Without a doubt, Narcos is one of the most popular shows on Netflix. It’s an extremely addictive show, and if you’re looking for a new hit series to watch, then you definitely don’t want to miss out on Narcos. This show follows Pablo Escobar's life while he was at his prime as one of Colombia's biggest drug lords. The story is told by Chris Feistl, an agent who works under Steve Murphy as part of la Brigada de Analisis de Drogas. Fans of documentaries will also appreciate that much of it is based on true events and people. Although it isn’t for everyone – given its intense scenes that may be difficult for some viewers – it is a very interesting show.

8 ) Master of None

Aziz Ansari’s Master of None was an immediate hit when it debuted on Netflix last year, and with good reason. The show is a celebration of life, love and friendship and has now been picked up for a second season. The series follows Ansari’s character as he negotiates his personal relationships while searching for his career calling. It is both funny and heartwarming, providing ample reason to binge-watch all 2 seasons at least once before 2022 hits!
